Casey Anthony indicted for murder today

After months of her ducking and dodging law enforcement at every turn, the infamous Casey Anthony was indicted today in Orlando on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter and four counts of lying to investigators about the disappearance of her daughter, little Caylee Anthony.
Sources report that Casey's father , George, testified Tuesday behind closed doors to the 19-member grand jury along with a detective, a cadaver dog handler and an FBI agent.Casey,22, is being held without bond.
Although no body has been found, States Attorney Lawson Lamar feels confident that there is enough evidence to convict Anthony on the charges.
I am no legal scholar and opinions vary wildly on this subject, but I smelled a rat as soon as this story made the press months ago. As the mother of a little girl,I know for a fact there is NOTHING that would prevent me from cooperating with the police if my child was missing.Casey Anthony waited over a month before reporting her daughter's disappearance and even then gave them a B.S. story that turned out to be unsubstantiated. The tabloid press has had a field day with stories and photos every week revealing Anthony to be a "party girl" who resented her child for "interfering" with her good times, and while I take those sources with a grain of salt, she has done very little to prove otherwise. What makes me even angrier is that she was not alone in raising her daughter-in fact, her and Caylee lived with her parents and they appear to have been doing most of the work involved in raising the little girl.It wasn't like she snapped and had nobody to turn to for respite.
I could care less what happens to Ms.Anthony but I hope and pray that she will stop stonewalling and lawyering up and just come clean.Little Caylee and all the people who really loved her deserve some closure and if possible,a proper Christian burial if she is indeed deceased.I will be following this case very closely and hope that justice will prevail. We have got to stop coddling these twisted selfish people who decide they do not want to be parents anymore and make an example of them so that maybe no more children will be lost.Your Mother is supposed to be your caretaker, the one person in the world with whom you feel safe and loved.Sadly that is not always the case.
Ms.Anthony would do well to keep in her mind that Florida has a death penalty and they are not squeamish about sending convicted murderers to Death Row.If she is foud guilty,I hope the jury will not be hesitant to sentence her to the full extent of the law.

North Prong - Primary Public Capital Investment

The costs associated with this project could range anywhere from $5,308,000 to $7,852,000. This does not include the $400,000 to $500,000 per acre, addressing environmental issues. We all know, in the land of Barrie this isn't even close to what they will spend of taxpayers money.

More tomorrow.

North Prong - Exhibit A Short Term Revitalization

Today let's look at the short term plan for revitalization of the North Prong under Mahan Rykiel Associates, Inc.

Last night John Pick said he parented Resolution 1710. Louise Smith stressed repeatedly this was a resolution to ONLY acknowledge receipt of the plan. LIAR! Paul Wilber said this was a mild resolution. LIAR! Paul Wilber also told Jack Lenox and Gary Comegys when Perdue and the Farmers are gone, its done. Time to slither back under your rock Paul.
S.J. Disharoon asked the question that most thinking people asked of themselves. Why do they need a resolution if it is ONLY to acknowledge receipt of a plan? I'll tell you why they wanted a resolution and it will explain why Lore Chambers stormed out of the council chambers with her panties in a twist, why Gary Comegys (who wants to be R NECKS MARE) voted with an emphatic NO when the question was called. These people are so damned arrogant they have Resolution 1710 listed on the website as if it had been accepted by the council. It's been up there for days before the council even met.

Exhibit A shows the plans for a boat ramp. Isn't that lovely? Gary Comegys cries every time that bridge goes up on Rt 50 as it is, he might commit suicide if it had to open for every small boat launched on the North Prong. You can't get a Boston Whaler under the Rt 50 bridge without opening it so why would you put a Public boat ramp there? You would be hard pressed to get a person in a kayak at low tide under the bridge. Another thing those idiots might want to consider doing before they go launching pleasure craft in the North Prong is getting that outfit up in Jersey that bought the barges from Dolbey down here to retrieve the two barges they got sunk out there in the river. Notice Perdue is taken completely off the map? It's tagged as a waterfront promenade. I'm sure that will cover the taxes lost by this business being gone. NOT!

There is a chart in this plan called the North Prong Strategic Revitalization Plan - Implementation Matrix. Typical of all charts it has colorful columns with listed Strategies, Immediate, Short Term, Mid Term, Long term, Goals & Visions. Listed in the column titled IMMEDIATE it says, ENFORCE design guidelines. Had this resolution passed by the normal 3-2 vote of council today they would be ENFORCING these guidelines. Those people sitting up there in the GOB, being paid $80,000 and more annually are nothing less than common liars and thieves. They, through Louise Smith tried very hard to make everyone believe this resolution was nothing more than an acknowledgement of receipt of a plan. Reality is this was planned to be put into action as soon as they got that 3-2 vote. Lore and the rest of the thugs in the GOB had every intention of ENFORCING these guidelines ASAP. I'm thankful this is an election year, otherwise Shanie would have never gone along with Campbell and Cohen and Louise won't be left out of the majority vote, no matter what they vote on.

Granted that area needs to be cleaned up but that is up to the property owners to tend to their properties not the city or WET or Greater Salisbury or Urban Salisbury or anyone else. If you want it cleaned up send Tom Stevenson over there or Bill Holland, let him earn his keep for a change. Tell these people they need to slap some paint on their buildings or plant a bush but don't tell them they will be part of a mix use area when that is not the truth by any stretch of the imagination. How can they say existing businesses are part of the plan when the plan states to the contrary, in black and white. The points of the Revitalization Process are as follows, in their exact order:

1. There should be no use of Eminent Domain in the revitalization of the North Prong.
2. Existing businesses should not be pushed out.
3. Revitalization should be incremental-maintain existing businesses that wish to remain as some properties are redeveloped.
4. Provide community with information on planning that has been done to date.
5. Redevelopment needs to be incremental (most common viewpoint)
6. Redevelopment should encompass the whole North Prong and marketed as "one package" (this is a conflict with more common sentiment that redevelopment should be incremental)
7. Focus needs to be on making downtown work, first
8. Focus should be in stabilizing housing in existing neighborhoods before building new residential (not a common theme)
9. Success hinges on ability to find alternate location for Perdue (unless area is to remain light industrial)

These planners are just like Barrie, the council majority and her overpaid flunkies, they talk out of both sides of their mouth. First they don't want to push businesses out then in the end they want to find Perdue a new location. Well, what the hell is that if it isn't pushing a business out?
Now we know the plan of Lore, Barrie and the rest of the crooks in this town, they plan on pushing out the ONLY large employer and taxpayer remaining in the city? Should Jim Perdue fall for this malarkey and pull up stakes who will replace the tax dollars he will be taking with him? Who will be replacing the water and sewer funds that he won't be paying any longer? Most importantly WHO will employ all of the people currently employed by the Perdue Corporation? Have the slumlords thought about WHO will rent their substandard housing when Perdue pulls out? When jobs go, people go and crime rises. Comegys, Shields and Smith don't want to give funding to SPD to curtail the crime we have in the city now, who do they think will be called to serve and protect their riverfront fiasco?

I haven't gotten past page 14 of this waste of $70,000 taxpayer dollars and it's raising my blood pressure. I can only imagine how the business owners on Mill St and Lake Street must feel. Due to the length of this plan it is going to take quite a few posts to get all of the info out there to anyone interested. Believe me, I've only just begun with this issue.

Yeah Mayor Tilghman, Close That Draw Bridge For Good

If you're not aware, I'm in and out of the Office on a regular basis. However, when I am here I can hear the bells going off on the Draw Bridges, so I know how often this thing goes up and down. Today, that Bridge was up for a good 10 minutes. I just can't see how this North Prong project can even be considered. The Bridge did just finally come back down moments ago.

While I have agreed to Post this letter, I did reply stating that I didn't see anything here where they broke any laws. I added that while we may not like their attitudes at times, their dress codes and so forth, they too have to shop. I'll say, at least they were at the check out counter paying for the items they wanted.

Now that Gannett has provided nice new facilities for you and the worker bees at the Daily Times, a new logo is in order. Whadaya think?

Vote for Slots or ...

... You'll lose your house, your job and your children.

No, even Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley isn't that brazen.  But he's close.  While Barack Obama is running for President claiming to be the "element of change" and claiming that Democrats offer "the politics of hope", O'Malley proves that Democrats are doing what they have always done in the modern age - practice the POLITICS OF FEAR.

In yesterday's Baltimore Sun, O'Malley's chief apologists outlined O'Malley's argument that slots are needed or Marylanders will face severe budget cuts and a draconian reduction in state services - most notably in education, public safety and healthcare.  There is only one problem with O'Malley's scenario.  It's simply a political ploy.

Last week, O'Malley Watch predicted that this is EXACTLY what O'Malley would do; calling it O'Malley's "October Surprise".  O'Malley and his tax and spend cronies might even be forgiven this blatant attempt to sway Maryland voters EXCEPT that he has already established a record of this type of behavior.   Read More ...

Everyman's View Of City Council

"HOLY SMOKE, Joe! The city council meeting was hot tonight. Oddly, not so much in votes. But Campbell and Cohen were asking reaaaallly good questions about contracts tonight during award of bids. The public works guys were cool with it, and the ladies were just talking with them. Even accepted some of their suggestions. Bottom line is, there are some good folks working for the city. But we taxpayers really need somebody who knows how to negotiate and manage contracts.

And what the bleep was up with the annexation resolutions? From Cohen's description, it sounded like they've been using some kind of weird two-part resolution to move annexations through. How can they be voting on resolutions where the wording is going to change after they vote??? If I were that developer, I'd be talking to an attorney to tell the city "get it right" before somebody protests it and wins just because the city attorney writes funky resolutions.

Love Campbell going up against Comegys over schools. Campbell thinks the city ought to be keeping track of how many kids are going to fill up school through these annexations. Comegys said as long at the county gets its impact fees for schools, the schools aren't the city's problem. Jesus, he sounded just like Cathcart!

Finally, the North Prong study discussion was HOT! John Pick and Lore Chambers were pushing to get a resolution approved to "accept" the North Prong plan. A guy with a business at that end of the river got up and asked, "Do you NORMALLY pass a resolution to just accept a study?" Well, the more Pick and Chambers tried to downplay the resolution as just "accepting" a report, the more it sounded like a back door to "ADOPTING" the plan -- without anyone getting to say whether they even liked it! Some guy kept yelling from the audience that it was full of errors. Campbell, Cohen, and everyone just kept pushing back on this "accept" vs. "adopt" nonsense. Campbell moved to postpone and thank goodness Shanie was upset that people were upset and said, "Just withdraw it." So Campbell accepted that as a friendly amendment and it passed 4 to 1! Comegys yelled "no!"

That little difference in wording could have cost us MILLIONS of dollars, Joe!!! Man, you gotta see the facial expressions throughout this one.

I thought Louise Smith was going to implode. She can't run a meeting. Couldn't keep stuff straight again. Then she had to cope with the upset guy yelling from the audience. Oh, and of COURSE when she saw Shields going with Campbell and Cohen, she voted to leave Comegys out in the cold as the lone "no" vote. Her nickname is understandable.

Boy, they ought to just put Cohen in charge of the meetings and Campbell in charge of contracts. It'd be a little more boring for us, but think of how much better the meetings would run and how much money we'd save.

Well, I can dream, can't I?"

Duh, Central, Can You Send Comegys, We Have A Real Delema, Over

North Prong Report Controversy

At last nights city council meeting the north prong report reared its ugly head, with an attempt by the administration to backdoor an acceptance of the plan. A citizen in attendance with a vested interest in the report noted the fact that there were at least 5 errors and that the people who had done the report had used old data. This citizen also was forced to pay 25 dollars for a report with black and white pictures and asked the council to postpone accepting the report until color copies were available and that the errors could be fixed. Councilwoman Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen agreed and asked for this to go to a work session which Gary Comegys was against. After much bickering back and forth it was finally agreed to postpone to a later date so that the public was given more chance to be involved with this plan. Sad thing is we have already payed for this erroneous report , a report Gary said "was a great report and we got what we payed for" Also in the last few weeks Lore Chambers has displayed a negative attitude at every disagreement with her or her buddy the mayor, was rude to the above mentioned citizen on the phone when he asked questions and last nights display by her was very unprofessional

Christy Freeman & Co. Now In Salisbury?

Do you remember Christy Freeman? Christy Freeman is the woman accused of allegedly killing several babies in Ocean City July 31, 23007. As much as I hated seeing their vehicle here, imagine what others think in OC when they have to see them regularly.

Gary Comegys Says, Close Those Bridges!

In order to help their statistics so the Fire Department doesn't look bad when the Bridge is up and they can't get to a fire, Comegys and Tilghman want these Bridges closed for good. Oh, if you think that's the only reason you'd be dead wrong. You see, what many others tend to forget is the other Public Safety portion of the City and that would be the Police Department as well.

Aside from that though, Mayor Tilghman and Gary Comegys don't want you to know that they are trying to run Perdue out of the City along with other businesses along the North Prong.

Now you say to yourself, Joe, come on, why would these two want Perdue run out of Town. They're a strong part of our economy. I'd reply, they want ALL of the heavy users of water and sewer run out because they will NOT have the allocations for water and sewer, $84,000,000.00 later that they claimed they would have and if YOU find this out they'll be nailed and forever thrown out of the City.

They don't want you to know this and that's exactly why Linnens of the Week left Salisbury as well as others. If you use a lot of water and sewer, they want you gone. Look at the Micro Brewery wanting to come into the old Union Station and the Mayor throwing a $160,000.00 Impact Fee on them. They'll use too much of that water the swore to all of you they would have.

Do you recall john Jacobs asking for millions more to upgrade everything there even further so they could have even more capacity and it would be cheaper to do it now than it would be to do it later, hence the multiple CHANGE ORDERS. They want Perdue gone at any cost. Thousands of jobs will be lost, how could a Mayor of a City like Salisbury not care? How come Comegys isn't saying anything? How come the new Plant isn't up and running yet? Why should Perdue stay here with the rates as high as they are and knowing they're going up again next year?

Well, you can't say the North Prong isn't busy with boat traffic because today those Bridges have gone up and down twice with two different barges. The Mayor of Salisbury is full of crap Folks. I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Are you a supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness. Are you a breast cancer survivor? Do you have family members that survived breast cancer?

On the other hand, did you have a family member lose their life to breast cancer?

No Airbags!

No front airbags, side airbags, no seat belt, no turn signals, no headlights, no helmet, no brake lights, NOTHING!

Here we are as Americans spending billions of dollars for the Handicap Access to our sidewalks, yet they just refuse to use them. Noe I know many of you want to bust on me for busing on the Handicapped but come on Folks, this is ridiculous.

Are the SPD Officers afraid to write a ticket to these people, yet they'll pull over people on bicycles for not having blinking lights on their bikes?

I know if Sheriff Lewis was in Salisbury he'd pull this guy over and search that puppy for a hidden compartment. What better way to transport illegal drugs than one of these scooters? JUST KIDDING, GET A GRIP!

Seriously, these things are getting dangerous and someone needs to do something about them before someone is killed.

One For You, Four For Me. One For You, Four For Me!

Just Kidding!

Leave It Sitting Long Enough & They'll Steal It

Leave it to the City of Salisbury to let these drinking fountains turned off long enough for someone to steal the components. That's right, much of it is copper and even though there's a CAMERA right next to this fountain, I've read no arrests being made for the thieves.

Hey, by the way thieves, I heard the Mayor's Rims on her car are made of copper.

Brunswick Accelerates Resizing and Fixed-Cost Reduction Efforts; Will Record Non-Cash Impairment Charge in Third Quarter

LAKE FOREST, Ill., Oct. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC) today announced it will accelerate its previously announced efforts to resize the company and to remove $300 million in fixed costs by the end of 2009. The company is taking the action in light of extraordinary developments within the global financial markets that are affecting the recreational marine industry.

As previously announced, Brunswick had planned to close four boat manufacturing facilities in early 2009, but will now accelerate that process. Three manufacturing facilities to be permanently closed are located in Pipestone, Minn., Roseburg, Ore., and Arlington, Wash. A fourth plant, in Navassa, N.C., will be mothballed.

The Billiard end of their business was also hit hard with Layoffs. It's NOT looking good for America Ladies & Gentlemen.

Why Are So Many Democrats Pissed Off At Joe Albero

They're pissed off because for some reason Blogger now knows who's a Democrat and who's a Republican and the Democrat comments just won't go through any more.

You see, I have a feeling that Barrie Tilghman, T.J. Maloney and the likes of such are using Salisbury News to simply bash Andy Harris and John McCain, so I joined the Republican Bloggers Only portion of Blogger and now only registered Republicans can comment on this Site on political matters only.

There are certain key words this new system picks up on and no sooner do they type them in, it automatically rejects their comment. Blogger is certainly impressive.

So here's what I'd do Democrats. You start your own Blog and get all the hits that I do and then you bash away. In the mean time, Salisbury News will continue to stay enrolled in this new Blogger program until the elections are over.

Now look, don't get mad at me if your comment doesn't go up for your cause. Blame Blogger.

ROTFLMAO!
