Dr. Alvarado Update

At this time I have an inside source at Shock Trauma "with the Family."

Here's the deal. His Wife Margarita and ALL five of his Children, Jose, Juan, Carlos, Ricky & David are at the Hospital and have all arrived from around the Country.

Here is their message. "Dr Alvarado is fighting very hard. Please have everyone pray very hard."

I have also spoken with Dr. Alvarado's Sister Yvette in San Antonio who is trying to make contact with the Hospital. Please, if any of you have a GOOD NUMBER for Shock Trauma, please post it here so she can make direct contact with the Family.

I can tell you there are literally more than 3,500 people right now on Salisbury News following this story and looking for updates. Keep those prayers working Folks and pray for a miracle.

By The Grace Of God, We're Being Told Dr. Alvarado May Still Be Alive

We're hanging onto hope that the most recent information we have been given is accurate. While we had two sources very high up state that Dr. Alvarado passed, we've just been contacted by another source that has stated he may still be alive.

Folks, if you knew who our original sources were you'd clearly understand why we published his passing. While I never reveal ANY of my sources you'll simply have to trust what I'm telling you.

The outpouring of grief is overwhelming. As a courtesy to his Family and loved ones I will await and announcement from the Family before we make any more statements.

We'll keep you posted.

Jury Convicts Former Lawmaker In Freezer Cash Case


Former Rep. William Jefferson, a Democrat who had represented parts of New Orleans, was accused of accepting more than $400,000 in bribes and seeking millions more in exchange for brokering business deals in Africa.

A federal jury convicted a former U.S. congressman Wednesday of taking bribes on 11 of 16 counts in a case in which agents found $90,000 in his freezer.

Former Rep. William Jefferson, a Democrat who had represented parts of New Orleans, was accused of accepting more than $400,000 in bribes and seeking millions more in exchange for brokering business deals in Africa.

It took jurors five days to reach a decision after an eight-week trial. Most of the trial was government testimony. The defense wrapped up its case in a matter of hours.

BRIEF RESUME:

On the above date and time, a tractor trailer was disabled on the shoulder of E/B Rt. 50 @ Sixty Foot Rd. For reasons unknown, the Mercedes left the roadway and struck the rear of the trailer. Dr. Alvarado was the lone occupant in the convertible. He was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for life threatening injuries. Investigation is continuing.

Rt. 50 Completely Closed Down East & West Bound UPDATE


According to the Maryland Department of Transportation both east bound and west bound lanes are currently shut down, INCLUDING the shoulders of the road. GO HERE to see more.

UPDATE:

At this time the traffic is backed up from Forest Grove Road to Rt 346. A Mercedes drifted off the side of the road and hit a tractor trailer.

What I'm about to tell you is only a RUMOR, so take it as such. We're told the driver of the Mercedes is allegedly Dr. Alvarado, a well known and well respected local Pediatrician. While the accident was extremely serious, no one has died as of yet but they do not expect the driver of the vehicle to survive.

We had been told by others that Dr. Alerado's Office was closed this evening due to an accident, so that's why we're saying it's a rumor.

Delaware State Police Executive Staff Announcement

State of Delaware- Today, August 5th, Department of Safety and Homeland Security Secretary Lewis D. Schiliro and Delaware State Police Colonel Robert M. Coupe are pleased to announce the following appointments and promotions to the Delaware State Police Executive Staff. These individuals will assume their new duties on August 10th, 2009.

Captain James Paige- Lieutenant Colonel
Captain Paige is currently the Commander in charge at Troop 9 in Odessa. He was hired in 1984 and was a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command Leadership in 1995. Aside from his current responsibilities at Troop 9, Captain Paige worked in the Internal Affairs Division, the Video Lottery Unit and the DSP Traffic Section. Captain Paige holds a Bachelors of Science Degree from Pennsylvania State University.

Captain Monroe Hudson- Administrative Major
Captain Hudson currently heads the Human Resources Department of the State Police at DSP Headquarters in Dover and was hired in 1988. Captain Hudson was a 2004 graduate of the FBI National Academy and obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree from Wilmington University in 1999. During his tenure with the State Police, Captain Hudson worked in the Special Investigations Unit, the Sex Offenders Task Force, the Governor’s Task Force and was the DSP Trooper of the Year in 2001.

Captain Nathaniel McQueen- Operations Major
Captain McQueen has been with the State Police since 1988. He is currently the Troop Commander at Troop 2 in Glasgow and held similar posts at Troops 1 and 9. Earlier in his career, Captain McQueen served as a Traffic Lieutenant at Troop 3 in Woodside. He also served as a Burglary Unit supervisor at Troop 2’s previous location in New Castle. Captain McQueen holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from Delaware State University as well as a Bachelors of Science Degree from Wilmington University. He was a 2002 graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Colonel Robert M. Coupe says, “Captains Paige, Hudson and McQueen will join me, and Major Joseph Papili, as members of the executive staff. I am extremely excited about the future that lies before us and am certain that the goals we have as a police department are even more attainable with the leadership, motivation and vision these gentlemen bring. This is a terrific time for DSP.”

Georgetown-Yesterday, August 4th, David Bethard was arraigned in reference to the below outlined incident and ordered held secured at the Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of a $176,500.00 cash only bond. His custody has since been transferred to the Department of Corrections.


UPDATED DSP News Release #2: Monday, August 03, 2009- Domestic Dispute Results in Trooper Shooting Suspect

Georgetown- The following news release outlines additional details surrounding the officer involved shooting from yesterday.

This incident began with a domestic dispute at approximately 1:00 p.m. at a residence along the unit block of Wood Duck Way in the Sandhill Mobile Home Park in Georgetown. Initially, a verbal argument ensued between David C. Bethard, his 38-year-old girlfriend and her 19-year-old daughter. As the argument escalated, Bethard was asked to leave the residence, but he refused.

He went into the kitchen and obtained several large kitchen knives. He then held the knives in a threatening manner and advised that everyone was going to die. The 19-year-old fled the home and called 911. The suspect then took his girlfriend from the residence against her will.

The daughter advised the State Police dispatcher center, SUSCOM, of the facts surrounding the incident at the home and also told them that Bethard was armed. This information was relayed to the responding Troopers.

When the initial confrontation with the officer ensued, the Trooper gave Bethard several lawful commands for him to surrender. The suspect put his hands in his pockets and refused to take them out.

Then, instead of coming peacefully, the suspect threatened the officer. He then lunged at the Trooper and quickly withdrew his hands from his pockets while holding a black object. This object later proved to be a cellular phone. In fear for his life, the Trooper fired a single round from his divisionally issued weapon, striking the suspect.

Charges:
In reference to the officer involved shooting, warrants are now on file charging David Bethard with Resisting Arrest and Menacing (both misdemeanors).

In reference to the domestic, warrants are now on file charging Bethard with the following offenses: two counts of Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony (felony), Kidnapping (felony), two counts of Aggravated Menacing (felony) and two counts of Terroristic Threatening (misdemeanor).
He will be formally charged upon his release from the hospital.

The officer involved in this shooting is identified as Captain Charles Simpson, the Troop 4 Commander in Charge. As a matter of routine procedure, he has been placed on Administrative Duty.

Another Direct TV Story

Hey Joe,

I too have had difficulties with Direct TV in the past. I started receiving bills in 2005 stating that I owed them $700 plus dollars for a bill. I had always had Comcast and never had Direct TV. I called them numerous times and told them this was the case and they just told me they would look in to it and never called me back. I continued getting the bills and letters and I continued calling to let them know that this was not my debt. I eventually started receiving harassing phone calls about 3 times a day from them stating I needed to pay now or they were going to turn it over to collections, their employees were very rude to me when I tried to tell them that I never had Direct TV. This continued until earlier this year when I received yet another bill and I wrote in to them stating that I had never had the service I asked them to tell me where the service was hooked up because I knew it wouldn’t be at my house. After about 3 months I received a letter from them saying that they investigated it and that the debt could not be linked back to me and that they were sorry for any inconvenience. Meanwhile they had turned the debt over to collections and I had that going against my otherwise perfect credit. I just wonder how it is possible that they can get away with charging people for debts that aren’t even theirs and then diminish their credit by turning these claims over to collection agency’s without even investigating them first especially when the person has called numerous times telling them that their must be a mistake.

I just read your blog on Sbynews. I live in Harford County, and Frank Kratovil is our congressman, also. I plan on attending his townhall meeting in Northeast tomorrow. Thank you for letting me know what I should expect from him tomorrow.

According to his web page, his only office on this side of the bay is in Bel Air. As of the info I received from his Bel Air office last week, there is no meeting planned in this area. Since Harford County is mainly Republican, it does not suprise me.

Harrisonburg City Council Passes New Parking

With the high rate of attacks on women in secluded parking lots... especially during evening hours... the Harrisonburg City Council has established a 'Women Only'parking lot at the Harrisonburg Crossing shopping centre. Even the parking attendants are exclusively female so that a comfortable and safe environment is created for patrons.

Problems With Direct TV

I would like to hear from others about how they have been treated by Direct TV when they chose to cancel their services with them.

We had been customers of Direct TV for 9 years. Many times during those years, we had problems with service, and finally, enough was enough. Last August I called Direct TV to see about cancelling with them and they told me it would cost $300 for an early cancellation fee. We decided to wait until July of this year as the cost to cancel would only be $80.....the amount I was given on 3 different phone calls to them. I kept notes of those phone calls with dates and to whom I spoke. I was also told that the fee is reduced by $20 per month.

In July, we cancelled our service with Direct TV after being hooked up with Comcast. We immediately received a bill from Direct TV with an early cancellation fee of $180. I called to advise them that they had overcharged us by $100. They advised they would check it out and return our phone call. They did not return the phone call, but four days later, we received a statement from them showing they had charged our credit card company the total of $180 (unauthorized as far as we are concerned). Previously, we had let them apply the charges to our credit card and thus, they still have the number (scary, isn't it?). I called the credit card company and they advise that once you give them the card info, they are able to use it to collect,and unless we have it in writing from Direct TV of the amount of charges they told us, they are unable to do anything to correct the situation. They both indicate that the charges are not unauthorized because they had been given the credit card info, and even tho we had stopped paying by credit card several months ago, they tell me they are unable to remove the credit card information from their system.

I called Direct TV and spoke with a supervisor (?) who was unable to reduce the charges. He stated that the original contact signed 9 years ago allows them to make the charge upon termination, and there was nothing he could do.

Funny thing happened when I called the credit card company.......the same thing had happened to the lady I spoke with and she was also unable to have the additional charges removed from her account. A similar situation also occured with a family member who just had to pay up!!

It is hard to believe that large companies operate in this matter, and harder to believe that they are still in business. I plan to contact the Better Business Bureau and any others that I can learn about. Any info that you or any readers can provide will be greatly appreciated.

COUNTY EXECUTIVE TO HOLD COMPREHENSIVE NEWS CONFERENCE ON LANDFILL THEFTS


Wicomico County Executive Richard M. Pollitt, Jr. announced today that the news media and the general public are invited to a comprehensive news conference on the county landfill theft scheme. The county’s first executive said, “I hope that this conference will bring closure to the 2008 scandal that rocked the county’s Solid Waste Division.”

Mr. Pollitt will meet the news media and his constituents at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 11th, in the City/County Council Chambers in the Government Office Building. The meeting will be carried live on PAC 14.

Mr. Pollitt said that, “It’s time to bring this matter to a conclusion. I intend to present a narrative entitled ‘The Landfill Thefts – From A-to-Z.’ I and my staff shall be present to answer any and all questions from the public and the news media. We intend to describe how this happened, how we dealt with it, what we’ve learned and what we’ve done to ensure that something of this nature does not happen again.”

What Happened To ALL Of The Black Voters?



The only black people there, (with all due respect) were the Staff Members working for Frank Kratovil.

That being said, I personally think Frank is going to have one hell of a time getting re-elected.

While Obama was a major force in bringing out the black vote, Frank's not going to enjoy riding that wave again this go around and will more than likely lose about 20% of the people, (easily) that voted for him in the past.

On another note, why weren't they there last night? These are important issues that affect us all. I just don't get it.

Federal funds for abortions are now restricted to cases involving rape, incest or danger to the health of the mother. Abortion opponents say those restrictions should carry over to any health insurance sold through a new marketplace envisioned under the legislation, an exchange where people would choose private coverage or the public plan.

It is possible that the Birther Movement has been set up as a straw man argument so it can be easily debunked.

Here is the more important aspect of the Birther Story: Obama accepted grants to Occidental College as a foreign student. This fact has fueled many in the Birther Movement. It is entirely possible that Obama stole money as a college student, but was in fact, born in Hawaii.
Also, being hidden in the media is Obama's past as a drug user and homosexual pervert. The Sinclair Book speaks to this "dirty" side of Obama's past, yet nothing is reported in the news about that matter.

Constitutional Law?

How do the lunatics in Washington distort the Constitution to further their nefarious schemes to enslave the public? To find an answer we must examine what the Constitution says and the order in which it is written.

Article 1, section 8, clause 3;
[ The Congress shall have power ] To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes.

This is often amplified by the Necessary and Proper Clause which states that this Commerce Clause power, and all other enumerated powers, may be implemented by the power "To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof."

Did they have second thoughts when they enacted the ninth amendment ? -
The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

The Founding Fathers gave voice to this concern in the tenth amendment. -
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

In view of the foregoing, try to make sense of a national health care program, but banning shopping across state lines for lower cost insurance.

How about an energy policy that encourages the importation of foreign oil, but prohibits domestic drilling?

Where does the redistribution of wealth appear in the Constitution? From what I read the acquisition of wealth is an individual right.

Does regulating commerce include the government takeover of private companies, deciding on employee compensation or even who works there?

- Former President Bill Clinton and two freed journalists arrived back in the United States Wednesday, less than 24 hours after the women were pardoned by North Korea's reclusive leader, Kim Jong Il.

The jet carrying Euna Lee and Laura Ling landed at Burbank's Bob Hope Airport early Wednesday. The women rushed into the waiting arms of their families, whom they hadn't seen during more than four months of captivity in North Korea.

So much for Obama striking a new tone on race.

President Obama’s response during his press conference to the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates — that the Cambridge police officer “acted stupidly,” despite Obama’s confession that he didn’t know what really had happened — should lay to rest the illusion that Obama somehow represents the transcendence of racial politics.

From the moment he first stepped onto the national scene, it was obvious that Obama is not “transracial” but in fact a creature of identity/grievance politics. His whole career has been fueled by the perception that he is “black,” that is, a victim of endemic white racism, and thus deserving of various entitlements designed both to compensate for that victimization and to alleviate the guilt of whites who have bought into a demeaning definition of blackness that reduces blacks to being passive victims in need of special consideration.

In other words, the essence of Obama’s public identity is that he serves as a symbol of black grievance and white guilt. The reality of his life is not really an issue. The facts that he is not “black” by any criterion other than the Jim Crow “one-drop” rule, that his perceived blackness has been an advantage in his career rather than a handicap, that the exaggeration of his talents and achievements reflects the “soft” racism of liberal low expectations — all these mean nothing. What is important is that Obama is just black enough to serve as a racial symbol, but not so black that he frightens white people. This disconnect between reality and symbol is most obvious when Obama speaks to a black audience, as in his recent address to the NAACP, and attempts the rhythms and inflections of black oratory. After five minutes it becomes clear that this is not Obama’s normal speaking style, but rather an affectation redolent of nerdy white women warbling “You go girl!” Just imagine Jesse Jackson making that same speech, or even Jeremiah Wright, and you can see the difference between authentic black oratory and the imitation.

Mr. Kratovil, My Grandfather Is A Retired War Veteran


What are you going to do to make sure he is cared for with Health Care?

Congressman Kratovil responded by telling this very young man that many Soldiers are committing suicide. He went on to explain how they're going off to war and seeing horrible things and then committing suicide and this has to be addressed.

Not for nothing but this was NOT the kind of answer Mr. Kratovil should have shared with this young man. Out of all of the questions asked, Frank really never answered this young man's question but instead took another direction, one in which will certainly come back and bite him down the road.

Considering Salisbury News is gaining momentum daily, it's articles like this that will again reach the MSM, (perhaps) and be shared around the Country. Lord knows with all the hits and attention we've been getting recently, there's a LOT more people viewing Salisbury News than ever before., That being said, it's easy to sit on the outside and criticize and to be honest with you I personally believe Frank, (if he could) would take back that moment in a New York Second.

Kratovil Faces Hostile Crowd In Mardela Town Hall Meeting










As you can see from the numerous images above, the auditorium was at capacity with some 250 people attending and to be 100% honest with you, (besides Frank's Staff) there wasn't a single Kratovil supporter in the audience.

America is angry and they came out in masses all day yesterday where Freshman Congressman Frank Kratovil faced hundreds of angry people wishing to voice their opinion and being cut short because of time.

While it was announced as a Town Hall Meeting, once the ball started rolling yesterday morning at other events the tone changed immediately and they wanted to instead have a one on one with Congressman Kratovil. I'm told that Frank met mid day with Sheriff Mike Lewis and walked out of that meeting with the support of Sheriff's Deputies, (2 of them in Madela) to make sure everything and every one stayed focused on the issues.

Mr. Kratovil did change the format after seeing so many people waiting in line to get a number just to ask a question. There was no way this was going to fly in one short hour. Once the auditorium filled up, (which didn't take very long at all) Frank came in and started taking questions.

I too have to tip my hat to Frank as he indeed did take questions from a very angry crowd who started openly discussing their questions one at a time before Frank ever entered the room.

No matter what is said here or elsewhere, Frank Kratovil did his best to answer every one's questions but had to cut some short as they attempted to ask a second or third question. No microphone was available so everyone really needed to remain quiet to hear what was being asked and answered but a select few hecklers continued to shout out questions demanding answers.

The earlier Post from this morning shares some of the questions and details of what happened, so I thought I'd share more images and show everyone that people are sick and tired of what is being shoved down our throats.

No Chuck Cook, no Two Sentz, no Jim Ireton, NO DEMOCRATS were there to have Frank's back. Zoo Pelican Swallows Cell Phone

Bird regurgitates phone that a visitor had dropped into exhibit

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho
- Can you hear me now?

A pelican at the Tautphaus Park Zoo took something other than food in his bill when a cell phone that had been dropped in a pool at the exhibit made its way down the hatch.

The flock in the exhibit were playing with the phone Monday until one of the birds swallowed it. For three hours, zookeepers couldn't figure out which bird did it until the culprit coughed up the goods.

Planned job cuts announced by U.S. employers totaled 97,373 last month, up 31 percent from June when it had hit a 15-month low, according to a report released on Wednesday by global outplacement consultancy Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc.

Sergeant Crowley, the sole class act in this trio, helps the handicapped Professor Gates down the stairs, while Barack Obama, heedless of the infirmities of his friend and fellow victim of self-defined racial profiling, strides ahead on his own.

This picture becomes a metaphor for ObamaCare. The elderly are left in the back, with only the kindness of the Crowleys of the world, the stand up guys, to depend on. The government has other priorities.

This image will have genuine resonance. It captures something that older Americans in particular can relate to. The President presses ahead with a program that will tell them to take painkillers instead of getting that artificial hip.

At every stage of the entire Gates affair, Obama has provided a revealing tell. The "acted stupidly" blunder revealed that he automatically blames the police and thinks they really are stupid to begin with. It didn't trigger a single alarm bell in his mind as he figured out what to say.

Without his scripts, Obama is no longer the master performer.

What's Hollywood to Do?

Over the last eight years we saw Fahrenheit 911, Syriana, Redacted, Rendition, Stop Loss, Lions for Lambs, In the Valley of Elah, and a host of other movies released about the U.S. war on terror and the Iraqi conflict. The general theme was that George Bush lied and so destroyed the Constitution and put us into Iraq, where we are waging an amoral war, among other unmentionables.

Are there additional such movies in the pipeline? After all, U.S. policy under President Obama has largely adhered to the Petraeus/Bush plan in Iraq; Obama actually accelerated operations in Afghanistan where losses are spiking. Renditions and tribunals continue. So do Predator strikes, as well as wiretaps and intercepts. Guantanamo, while not in the daily news as before, remains open. Have suddenly, say, between November 2008 and today, the above policies changed in any measurable manner, or, was the furor simply that the policies per se were never the problem, just the person who implemented and oversaw them? Take him away, and presto, the same policies become fine — and thus no longer warrant the best and brightest in Hollywood to offer much needed exposés?

All of which poses the question: What is Hollywood to do now? Do a hit piece on Panetta's CIA? Obama and the new opium war in Afghanistan? Robert Gates's unlawful Pentagon? The back-room deals of Hillary Clinton at State? In nine months, we went from lions to lambs?

Israelis Suspected Of US Tax Return Fraud Arrested

Police raid homes of suspects who allegedly cooperated with Americans to swindle tens of millions of dollars from IRS, transfer money to Israeli bank accounts. Police suspect 62-year-old American Jew who fled to Israel as head of operation

Police suspect that seven Israelis and Americans embezzled tens of millions of dollars from the US tax authorities and transferred the money to Israel.

The National Fraud Unit arrested the Israeli suspects, and their remand hearing is scheduled for Monday at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court.

The investigation, dubbed "American Pie" began several months ago, when the federal authorities asked Israel to probe the case. Head of the National Fraud Unit Brigadier-General Shlomi Ayalon, Who met with the Americans, tasked an investigation team headed by Deputy Commander Yoran Naaman, with the case.

I'm sure water fees are a nominal cost for irrigating the lawn at the Wicomico youth and civic center, particularly after the recent deluges.

They could do a little better in these tight times to check if it's working right. Every morning on my commute, I see the same errant lawn sprinkler unit GUSHING water over the sidewalk and cascading down the street to the nearest storm drain.

To see it makes you wonder. Alas I don't have a camera to shoot and send. Just cruise by any morning at 7 AM or so to see for yourself.

Price Accepts President Obama’s Invitation To White House To Examine Health Care Proposals Line-by-Line

Washington, Jul 30 - Republican Study Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-GA) today sent President Obama this letter accepting his invitation for Members of Congress to visit the White House and go over the proposals for health care reform line-by-line.

The letter reads:

Dear Mr. President:I am delighted that you have extended an invitation for Members of Congress to visit you at the White House and go over the proposals for health care reform line-by-line. Please consider this letter my formal acceptance of your invitation.

As a practicing physician for over twenty years, I have witnessed both the great need for health care reform as well as the negative effects that government intrusion into health care has had on patients. The time for health care reform has certainly come. Unfortunately, the approach being pursued by those who control Congress will only compound the errors of government-run health care. I have great concerns that the House bill, H.R. 3200, will further remove from patients the ability to make their own personal medical decisions, and according to the Congressional Budget Office, it will not address the issue of costs.

Your invitation is particularly welcome as several Members of Congress from your party have publicly admitted that Republicans have been shut out of House negotiations on health care reform. Russian Attack Subs Patrol Off U.S. Coast


Military officials monitor movements of 2 nuclear-powered vessels

WASHINGTON
- Two nuclear-powered Russian attack submarines have been patrolling in international waters off the East Coast for several days, in activity reminiscent of the Cold War, defense officials said Tuesday.

U.S. Northern Command would not comment on the Russian submarines' movement. But in a prepared statement, Northern Command spokesman Michael Kucharek acknowledged the patrols and said the U.S. has been monitoring the two submarines.

Narrative: On 3 August 2009
at 8:05 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a business in the 100 block of East Gordy Rd for the report of two individuals who had been observed by employees stealing scrap metal left on the property. The employees provided the deputy with a description of both individuals along with one for the pickup truck they operated. The deputy responded over to Delmarva Recycling on Boundary Street and observed the same pickup truck described by the employees parked in front of the office. The deputy then located the two individuals who allegedly stole the scrap metal, David Badgett and Margie Barnard. During the deputy’s subsequent investigation, both admitted to taking the scrap metal.

Both Badgett and Barnard took a total of 153 pounds of scrap metal from the business on E. Gordy Road. The management at Delmarva recycling valued the metal at $13.08.

The deputy placed both Badgett and Barnard under arrest and transported both to the Central Booking Unit where they were processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner released both on Personal Recognizance.

The Delmar Fire Department will be onsite to discuss fire safety. Plus children will have the opportunity to tour their fire truck, which will be on location during the event.

Child car seat safety will also be included in the event’s schedule. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 80% of child restraints are used incorrectly. According to National Safe Kids Campaign, nearly a third of children ride in the wrong restraints for their age and size. Recent data from the Crash Injury Research & Engineering Network indicate that inappropriately restrained children are nearly three and a half times more likely to be seriously injured than their appropriately restrained counterparts. Car seats reduce the risk of death by 71% for infants and by 54% for children ages 1-4, and reduce the need for hospitalization by 69% for children ages 4 and under. Border Crossing

A guy was traveling through Mexico on vacation when, lo and behold, he lost his wallet and all identification.

Cutting his trip short, he attempted to make his way home, but was stopped by the Customs Agent at the Tijuana border.

'May I see your identification, please?' asked the agent.

'I'm sorry, but I lost my wallet,' replied the guy.

'Sure, buddy, I hear that every day. No ID, no crossing the border,' said the agent.

'But I can prove that I'm an American!' he exclaimed. 'I have a picture of President Obama tattooed on one butt cheek and apicture of Vice-President Biden on the other.

'This I gotta see,' replied the agent..

With that, the man dropped his pants and bent over in front of the agent.

'By golly, you're right!' exclaimed the agent. 'Go on home to Maryland .

'Thanks!' he said. 'But how did you know I was from Maryland ?

The agent replied, 'I recognized the picture of Governor O'Malley in the middle.'

How Do YOU Feel About The Library?


Joe, perhaps you would consider writing an article about the re-location of the library.

It appears from what I have heard, and what is in the paper this am. that a huge mistake is about to be made.

One of the largest, and most valuable (I am an appraiser-but it is a no brainer that parking lot 10 is valuable due to visibility and location, much less it's size) piece of property in the "old town" part of the city.

As I hear it the director of the library wants the site and the bobble heads are willing to go along. In my opinion this is a true show of stupidity. 100% stupid. Children walking on one of the busiest corners in the city, (traffic stops for no one there) check it out with your camera. events for kids and parents would be impossible. The city is trying desperately to "revitalize" and will do so with the help of the current Mayor and the businesses, the Urban Salisbury group and other really knowledgeable people.

It is more than obvious that the director of the library is not a business person, nor are the three council persons who voted for the site. (don't know if it was a work session or a council meeting) think a work session.

Please Joe, I think this is preventable, and it is rivals the fire station in its stupidity, and probably cost. A good business person does not give away one of its best assets to a "non profit" first of all, and secondly a good business considers business, first, and the knowledgeable persons in the community and the intelligent business persons on the council, and the Mayor have suggested that it is not a good idea, that there are other sites that would do just as well, perhaps better. I agree.

Obama 'Joker' Picture Pops Up In Los Angeles And Across The Internet

You might not expect liberal Los Angeles, of all places, to be ground zero for anti-Obama sentiment, but that appears to be the case with a new, apparently grassroots campaign in the city. Posters have been spotted on utility poles and walls around town, depicting the president made up grotesquely as The Joker, the infamous Heath Ledger character in "The Dark Knight," with white face paint, dark eye shadow and smudged red lipstick. The word "socialism" is printed in bold, dark letters under the image of his face.

Nobody has come forward yet to claim responsibility for the posters, which, of course, only adds to the mystery and fuels Internet speculation.

Congressman Frank Kratovil Under Fire At Town Hall Meeting


Talk about a bunch of people upset with their congressional representative!

Freshman Kratovol, our representative for the first District took it on the chin all day today and still never seemed to get it or get over it. People do not want this government run option. Over 75% of Americans have said so. As if that is not enough, hundreds poured out to events all over the shore from Snow Hill to Salisbury to tell him so. His attempts to tell people that he was undecided because of a few key issues in the bill, seemed to be translated to "I'll vote for it if I can quell a few concerns" were met with boos and strong opposition.

His last event of the day was at Mardela High School, was supposed to be a town hall format, but when we arrived, there was a number system and a lottery to see who might be able to have the opportunity to speak to the hired hand. It appeared he had taken some measures with security and face time with his district since the 1 o' clock meeting at the UMES Extension Office earlier that day. There wasn't any sherriff or police officers at the earlier event.

When we arrived to Mardela's High School, hundreds were in line before us. Finally under pressure of the number of people who turned out, the congressman decided to face the crowd. For that I give him props, even if I do think it would have been political suicide for him not to face his tax payers, and employers.

He was met with some pretty well informed individuals who had studied the bill in depth. Perhaps more than the congressman himself. He fought to keep control of the meeting as seniors and young people both pointed out issues such as the provision to make private insurance illegal, end of life counseling, the out of control cost of this bill, as well as the cap and trade tax and the the "bail outs" he voted for along with numerous other issues with the current forms of the healthcare bill. Many referred to specific pages of the bill. Frank appear to have some contempt at these voters and tax payers, and at time got visibly angry at the crowd, when they questioned him and spoke out.

What I felt was a bit odd was the manufactured stories Kratovil repeated over and over again from meeting to meeting. He mentioned repeatably how his sisters' sick child was living over seas and came to Maryland for treatment and how he, (Kratovil) as a prosecutor was somehow smarter than everyone else. As if credentials as a lawyer as something good these days. I found this all extemely disengenious especially having heard it 3 times in a row.

Frankly, Frank, what really pissed me off was your handler Kevin. Kevin surely was the same guy I spoke to on the phone a few days ago that decided it was his position/duty to debate me as opposed to reporting my views to you the congressman. Kevin, tonight once again decided to debate me but this time publicly, regarding Krotovil statement that he had better health insurance coverage previously in Queen Annes' County as opposed to his current State coverage (federal) and wouldn't allow me to ask a question, even though I spent four hours today, taking time from my job, as a private citizen, to try to speak to the congressman. He was full of contempt for the whole room. He was particularly rude to me as he wanted to privately argue with me but refused my question to the congressman. The room chanted "let her ask her question" over and over but he went on to someone else.

I don't know where all the people were that are supporting and urging this so called reform, but they didn't come out to ANY of the meetings on the shore today.

We have plenty of pictures and vidoes to come. One of the most charming was Kratovil telling a soilders son that was maybe an 8 year old little boy, all about how many soilders commit suicide. That's a real winner we'll have up soon.

Let's see what the Washington Post, ABC News, and The Boston Globe have to say Wednesday, as they all interviewed us.
