Jon Stewart takes on Jon Gruber, calls Democrats 'slimy'

Jon Stewart on Tuesday night railed against Obamacare “architect” Jonathan Gruber and the Democrats trying to distance themselves from him since comments resurfaced in which he insulted American voters.

Mr. Gruber, an MIT economist who was paid almost $400,000 to help shape Obamacare, said during an October 2013 appearance at the University of Pennsylvania that the “lack of transparency” and “stupidity of the American voter” were politically advantageous in getting the law passed.

“Well let me ask a question — who the [expletive] is [Mr. Gruber]?” Mr. Stewart asked on “The Daily Show” after playing the 2013 clip, Talking Points Memo reported.

“Probably a complete peripheral player,” he scoffed.

Mr. Stewart then played a video montage that confirmed Mr. Gruber’s involvement with shaping the law, including President Obama saying in 2006 that he’s “stolen ideas” from Mr. Gruber.

“So the Democratic leadership told us that the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act was not a tax, even though they knew it was a tax — that’s pretty slimy,” Mr. Stewart said. “I guess all they can do now is go before the American people and say, ‘All right, we misled you.’

The difference between real unbiased news and Fox News. Jon Stewart will call out his own party on mistakes, while dirtbags like Sean Hannity kowtow to every little whim and cover up every mistake and mislead all you ES olds.
