Black Judges Gives Armed Robbers Light Sentence Saying Three-Year-Old White Victim is 'Racist'

A black judge in Kentucky has given two home invaders and armed robbers a light sentence because he feels that their three-year-old white victim was a “racist” because in her victim statement the little girl said she is now afraid of black people after they broke into her home and threatened her with a gun.

In an outrageous statement from the bench, Louisville Judge Olu Stevens attacked the tiny white toddler and her parents for their “racism” calling the little girl’s statement “disturbing” while at the same time excusing the actions of the criminals who traumatized her. That’s right, this judge was more upset at a little girl for being scared by armed robbers than he was at the armed robbers.

At the sentencing trial of one of the robbers, a victim’s impact statement written by the little girl’s mother was entered into evidence. The statement read in part, “Whenever we are running errands, if we come across a black male, she holds me tight and begs me to leave. It has affected her friendships at school and our relationships with African-American friends.”

Then the judge outrageously attacked the little girl saying her statement disgusted him…

This is a 3 yr old. 2 black men traumatize her and she is afraid of all black men. If they were Asian women the result she would be afraid of Asian women. At 3 she only can process facts to a certain point 9if the stove burns you, all stoves will burn you). I have to think this judge is the racist. I only saw 1 non black in his commercial.

As a 70 year old black woman, it is my opinion that this judge is the racist. He ought to be removed from the bench.

This judge should be removed from office in disgrace.. He is the epitome of the problem that racists like him cause the problems in this country

The judge needs to be removed.

He has no jurisprudence and should be recalled or impeached, removed from the bench, and disbarred from practicing law.

The judge is in denial that blacks have influence over the views that whites hold of them. Much of the racism in this country is the result of the acts of black people on white people. No logical, rational person can deny this fact.

Now for just a small defense of the judge's opinion, if the perpetrators had been white males, would the little girl have stated that she was now afraid of all white people? Now I know that is a hard concept for a racist mind to wrap around. But try it for a moment, and see if you can see what the judge was trying to convey. It wasn't the crime of B&E & assault that traumatized the child, but the parents said the fact that the crime was committed by people of color was what left their little girl traumatized and afraid of all black people.

The judge was just stating his deep resentment at all the racism, past and present, that he still encounters in life.

Telling a black judge that the victim is now afraid of ALL black people (including the judge), was not the best presentation of a victim impact statement to a black judge. It can be understandable that he might take offense. The parents should have just stated that their little girl was traumatized by the crime, and no longer feels safe in her own home. That would have gone a lot farther with the judge than bringing up the fear of black people with a black judge. If the parents had sought legal advice before entering the impact statement, a competent attorney would have told them that.

Arab Muslims bombed the twin towers, and for a long time after, and still today, people are nervous about Muslims. Black, white, mexican, anyone who got on a plane after 9/11 wouldn't want to see a Muslim sitting next to them. There is nothing racist about it. It is a natural fear after witnessing a traumatic event perpetuated by a specific group of people. I know that may be a hard concept for an ignorant mind to understand.

Ignorance is the mind that blames an entire class of people for the acts of a few.

I can see where the judge might be offended that the parents sent in the victim impact statement with it worded the way it was worded. The fact that the little girl, who was only three years old, was afraid of black people now is a rational fear for the immediate future after the crime. The parents could then explain to the child that not all blacks do things like this and that this was just a "bad man" and that there are bad black men and bad white men but please realize that this is a three year old who has been traumatized. To give the perpetrator probation for a "armed" home invasion just because of the impact statement is totally wrong. Maybe he will be the judge the next time this black individual is in court--for killing someone. He should be at least reprimanded for his ruling.
