The dominoes are falling . . .

Just a few more in that Civic Center to go!!! Culver needs to keep the course. Civic Center management is under the microscope I hear and for good reason. The entertainment is very sub par and the building is falling apart from the inside out. Need some new blood with new ideas and agendas. Management is just coasting along under the radar banking retirement time. Your next move Mr Executive!!

please, please, please don't send Strausburg there to manage - even temporarily

You're either on the bus or you're under the bus.

It is time to do a national search and get some new blood and fresh thinking in our government. We have sat back and let Ocean City and Lower Delaware surpass us. Look at all the music festivals in Delaware and the big weekend events in OC, not to mention the possibility of a hockey arena. Wicomico has blown it time and time again while acquiring lots of parks. We need REVENUE not more parks.

There are some people with the wicomico county housing authority that need to resign as well.

Sandy Fulton was making great strides, but Mackes couldn't stand it. Maybe it is time we bring her back. She is doing great things with barbeque festivals all over the place. Since she left, Pork in the Park became a joke. That is just one example of the ole boys club thinking they are the smartest in the room. It fell apart without her.

The rumors are everywhere about drug abuse and more among workers at the Civic Center. Time to clean that place up.

The surrounding area has been eating our lunch in revenue production with events. We need someone with true vision to run that place. If Worcester gets the hockey arena, we might as well convert the Civic Center to county offices. Once again, Wicomico has let things go to h#ll in a hand basket by not keeping up with the times. But hey, as long as Creamer and his pals get great benefits and take advantage of the tax payer, that is all that matters. SMDH

Anonymous said...

He was the heir apparent to Mackes. Hope this means there will be a better environment for the employees.

Anonymous said...

Do drug test on parks division could get a few new employees maybe they will follow county handbook of no alcohol or drug at work

You know the old saying about heat in the kitchen. Sure looks like the kitchen is really heating up. I figure about 50 more degrees should do the job.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like Quackes theory look who's in rec and parks. No local leadership just washed up fired from last couple jobs Yes men

Anonymous said...

Miller and Rinnier management isnt really helping, but that will unlikely pass Joes censorship

Anonymous said...

Hope someone turns heat up on parks superintendent. You would save money telling his crew to stay home we will send you a check.

Anonymous said...

Amen- looks like a lot of folks see the Civic Center and its managers as failing. Hell- its no wonder they fail and the place is in shambles. Every time I go in there the manager is out either on vacation or comp timing his tail off. If you need him you can find him at the ball park. If the cats away the mice will play. He has his priorities out of kilter. Simply off the job too much. No creativity. Has become stagnant and the entertainment stinks. Trucks, Rodeos....Trucks, Rodeos and oh yeh.....trucks and rodeos.

Clean it up BOB!!!!!!

Andy is a great guy and wish him nothing but the best...

Someone need to take a look at Henry Parker complex comp time.

Anonymous said...

someone needs to look at the playing conditions at the athletic complex before someone gets seriously hurt

Anonymous said...

Woo Hoo! Ima gonna gets me a 18 pack of Naturals and celebrate the misfortunes of others. It don't matter if they was average or good or bad employees, it ain't me.

Anonymous said...

Send email to parks superintendent and assistant. Probably won't help one doesnt know what to do and the other doesn't care to know anything about sports fields

Anonymous said...

Response to 5:17 Poster - the only ones to get hurt are all of the outsiders coming into Wicomico to play softball - (ie. NJ, NY, Conn, VA, etc). As far as our own citizens getting hurt - you can forget it - they aren't privy to playing on our own ball fields.

Reichenberg for director!

Anonymous said...

Hello its PARKS and RECREATION

Anonymous said...

They fixed the fruitland fields this spring

Anonymous said...

Good riddance!

To the person who mentioned comp time. The comp time situation in the county is out of control. Mackes cashed out a TON of it when he left as did others. It needs to be exposed to the taxpayers. Department Heads should not receive comp time with the salaries they get. It is absurd. The good ole boys have entitled themselves with big payouts at the expense of the taxpayer. Culver - clean that up too!

I am sure the only one happy over this is the redhead chihuahua downstairs she will finally get the doghouse she deserves upstairs.

Anonymous said...

There are plenty at the top that need to go, Wayne, Ennis and Kimball.

Anonymous said...

Wish you the best Andy.

Anonymous said...

He would have workers back.

Anonymous said...

Reichenberg for parks superintendent.........

With him there is no need for a asst superintendent.

I don't know these people who are leaving today but I had one experience with Andy as a Wicomico citizen and taxpayer. I can say I was very impressed with his professionalism and dedication to his work on that occasion and based on that I thought we were lucky to have him.

I think we can find ourselves overstaffed with inexperience in no time or just understaffed period.

I believe it was Culver himself who when asked about reducing taxes said something to the effect we may not be able to reduce taxes but just hold the line. I am sure he is learning a lot about what it costs to run a county he was not aware of before. He may be able to move the money around a little and that will be about it. If you think things are falling apart now just wait it can get a lot worst

A lot of you people remind me of the French peasantry in The Tale of Two Cities. Or maybe Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge. You sound ignorant.

The one with nine cats in a bag.

Anonymous said...

Oh Yeeaah!!! Now your talking.

Anonymous said...

You obviously needed to spend a little more time with wisk. Any supervisors who would let a employee that came into work smelling of liquor and act intoxicated leave in a county truck is completely unprofessional

Anonymous said...

The big fish are gone and the minnows are swimming for hi ground.
Be careful guyz
The throat you cut today might be connected to the a$$ you have to kiss tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

Looks like you finally ran out of luck at R&P Wisk.

One more thing about Wicomico County, our High Schools have to leave Salisbury and go to UMES to have their Proms in the Spring. The reason why, they are charged such an high rate to use the WYCC. This is just unbelieveable, when young people, parents and friends have to drive that far to see the Grand March when we have a facility in the county that the schools are in!! Wake up Civic Center department heads and bring these proms back to our county.

Anonymous said...

6:00 you should wear a helmet when you are at bat. I think you have taken a few bean balls. Too many pitches to your head.

Anonymous said...

Ennis should be next!

Anonymous said...

Why two deputy directors at detention center?

Anonymous said...

As a volunteer managing one of the youth sports programs, I worked with Andy for several years and found him to be professional and helpful.
I thought he did a great job.
Sorry to see him leave.
I wish him the best.

Anonymous said...

Some of the employees at Parks and Recreation really need to be watched VERY closely and not allowed to use the county credit card. Material supplies need to be watched, are they walking?????

Anonymous said...

most employees at rec and parks need drug and alcohol counseling which is being ignored by management

Anonymous said...

The parks and recs dept have the most strict invoice audit checks in the county. From employee to secretary to dept head to accountant to CPA. ALL purchases and inventory small and large are watched and accounted for right down to every roll of toilet paper, paper towel, etc.

Anonymous said...

Has a park opened on that land near Hebron that Pollitt got the County to buy for $10,000 per acre?

Anonymous said...

Andy did not get dismissed he took a job with USSSA softball. End of story.

Anonymous said...

Someone's drinking the kool aid.

Anonymous said...

Culver needs to look at every employee in the county. There is one employee with enough comp to take a year off with pay. Can anyone guess where he or she works. Pure theft if you ask me.

Anonymous said...

Gary Mackes and Andy Wisk have been planning this for months. Guess where World Series will be next year. Money's on Worcester county.

Anonymous said...

Take a look at softball field #1 most of outfield is sand no grass left.

Anonymous said...

9:28 were waiting. But I'd guess detention center?

C topp said...

Great man, great coach, great sports mind!

Anonymous said...

Folks- they (we the taxpayers) are paying the WYCC manager 100k per year and he has more comp time than Obama. And I agree with above. Trucks and Rodeo's and lets not forget how many times the Ol Globetrotters have been here!! Taxpayers are being robbed!

Anonymous said...

what happened to the maintenance crew at the athletic complex, that place used to be beautiful but not now

Anonymous said...

Crew? I don't think two workers can be considered a crew.

Anonymous said...

who 1144

Anonymous said...

I watched 3 wicomico parks workers 3 weeks ago sit under a pavilion at fruitland field for 3 hours along with the town of fruitland employees sitting back shooting the breeze and playing with cell phones.

Anonymous said...

I thought rec and parks had a superintendent that could grow grass on concrete?
