This Is Why No One Wants To Run For Mayor Of Salisbury

Because Salisbury is a joke. It is a run down City perfectly conditioned for people like Jim Ireton and Jake Day. Always in turmoil, dilapidation, always loaded with crime and drugs and by golly these guys are going to be heroes and they are going to save your precious city.

BUT WAIT, how is what they will promise you going to work? Well, it won't. Why, because every building you look at is owned by one of the Good Ol' Boys. Guys like me, well, we just sell out and get the hell out of Salisbury because people like me aren't in the Good Ol' Boy system and we get fines for little strips of grass growing in our curbs IN THE STREET in front of our buildings while the former Mayor and her husband get no fines for broken windows and entrance doors to their building.

Heck, the former Mayor Tilghman and her husband couldn't care less what you think, (last two pictures) while they are obviously too cheap to replace simple and extremely inexpensive glass. If a window broke in my old building it was replaced that day or the very next day. There was never a need to call code and compliance.

I told all of you years ago, "It's Your Election To Lose". A simple and quick walk around just a small part of Downtown shows that neither Jim Ireton or Jake Day actually give a crap about a better Salisbury. Looks to me like they're more interested in controlling Salisbury instead.

Breaking News!

Letter to the Editor

You know how desperate the City is with balancing it's budget and how high the taxes are for the tax payers. And the Rain Tax on top of all that.

Well the Salisbury Fire Department is at it again. Not only are they building a multimillion dollar mini mansion in the Ghetto of Station 16'a Taj Mahal in the Ghetto they are sending 4 of the Chiefs favorites on an all expense paid vacation again. Connect the dots, there is a pattern there.

That's right the Salisbury Fire Department is flying at least 4 paid firemen to Atlanta Georgia for an all expense paid vacation on our dime for at least 4 to 5 days. They are flying down to Atlanta Georgia for the IAFC FRI 2015 - International Association of Fire Chiefs, Fire Rescue International Conference. Sort of like the all expense paid vacation some get in the Spring and FDIC in Indianapolis.

Fire-Rescue International

August 26 - 29, 2015

Atlanta, GA

Each August, thousands of the most prominent fire and emergency service leaders from across North America and around the globe come to FRI to learn, network and collaborate together.

IAFC FRI 2015 - International Association of Fire Chiefs registration fees are at least $750 per person times 4 = $3000. That doesn't include the flight down which might be about $700 per person times 4 = $2,800.

Then you have room and board which will be about $209 per night times 4 nights times 2 rooms. $836 times 2 equals $1672

And networking events which is about $100 - $200. Another $800. Now the cost to eat which is about $75 per day per person. $600.

Registration PDF form with prices
http://www.iafc.org/files/1FRI/FRI15_Reg.pdf

$3000
$2800
$1672
$800
_$600_
$9,000

That's right folks Rick Hoppes, John Tull, Jim Ireton and Jake Day just raped the fellow tax payers out of another $9,000 to $10,000

Ten Thousand Dollars($10,000) wasted by Rick Hoppes, John Tull, Jim Ireton and Jake Day. Yes they raped you hard again. BTW how does your butt feel today.

Oh did I mention that John Tull was Deputy Chief John Tull? Yes those 4 and the other three paid firemen don't mind raping the City of Salisbury tax payers because neither one of them pay taxes to the City of Salisbury!!

One viewer says they are enjoying a baseball game at the Atlanta Braves as showing off with it on FB.

I have also noticed the crosswalk buttons at various locations that are non functional.Maybe they are designed to promote the illusion of control as well.Pushing them does absolutely nothing except to provide a placebo empowerment effect to people who are otherwise useless.

Yikes!

Sbynews has realized what Day is really about. Miracles never cease.

His recent performance for the Republican Club was pure BS.

BTW, you were wise and ahead of the curve to sell your building.

Anonymous said...

yea nobody with money to spend wants to spend it down there

Please list the other "Good Ol" Boys" and not just the ones who own the building in the post pics.

Its a pity. Some of them still have charecter. There was a nice deli there - fireplace ad high ceiling. I suppose apartment were decent.

The Chamber of Commerce, Greater Salisbury and SAPOA have controlled this place for years. The power elite lives elsewhere and sees Salisbury as a cash cow. They support puppets like Mitchell, Shields, Heath, and Dunn, and at the top Barrie and now Day. They let Ireton win twice because they knew he was a powerless moron (but he did get them by doing the rain tax with Day's help) and that Comegys was a wild card and Joe would stand up to them.

Anonymous said...

Unfortunately, this year there's no "election to lose" because its already lost before the voting begins. Salisbury is entering free fall, so get ready for real trouble now.

Anonymous said...

Are you saying Barrie and her goofus bought Parker Place? I thought someone else owned it.

Lets not forget the construction and noise ordinance and all the bullspit that this neighborhood was put through while Gillis built The Gathering at Salisbury.
Liarton and Fake Day allow only certain people to break the law and get away with it. I mean, how would it have looked if any fines or citations were dropped on Gillis?? Certainly cant have that....he might not have allowed Fake to announce his candidacy from one of his businesses, or maybe he might not have "donated" that building to SU.

Palmer Gillis is good ol' boy NUMBER ONE.
Tony Gilkerson is NUMBER TWO.
Their kids come in right behind them on the list.

The good ol boy system goes further than the city. The whole county is infested with it.

spot on Joe. So sick of the young turks who think they are the smartest ones around. Let's build more bars. The more liquor the better. How's that worked out for you Brad, Chris and Joey. Understand you are sinking with Headquarters Live. You and your families are sucking the life out of downtown and trying to act like you are the saviors instead. Hope your little crowd can continue to support all of your bars and projects because the rest of us won't. Wonder when your "friends" will wake up and see how you are using them.

I know I sumbitted a quick blurb about myself on this blog and Joe kindly posted it, thanks again Joe. I am 100% not part of the ol' boys network and could care less about these people trying to control Salisbury. They need to have people on the council that will not vote by intimidation when it comes to all the things they get away with. The people on this next council need to vote for what's best for the people of Salisbury as whole.
We need to hear from the other candidates as to their positions on who or why they are running.
I made it clear I will not be intimidated by anyone nor will I owe anyone. I would to see the other candidates ether explain there stance or the various media needs to get to interviewing us all.
I want change, what does everyone else want?

Justin Gregoli for district 2

Comegys was a wild card? Hardly.
He was an original Dream Team member and rubber-stamped everything that Barrie presented.
His name is on the failed WWTP ($128 million down the toilet), the $12 million firehouse built on the cranberry bog (with a room dedicated to him), the Sassafras Meadows pipestem annexation (a mile and a half of city water, sewer and road construction to benefit a favored developer and the then-president of council, whose name was on the land deed), millions in developer reimbursements to favored developers, denial of a gang problem or presence in the city, support for the worst police chief we've ever had and three of the worst public works directors ever, etc. etc. etc.
Be glad that he didn't become your mayor, Salisbury.

You again? Dude stfu! Many companies and municipalities send employees out to train and for conferences. Don't complain. They could learn how to save money or utilize equipment in new ways so we don't buy more. I can't believe your so disgruntled that you post to dang near every post with this.

Salisbury is no better or worse than ANY city on Delmarva...from Wilmington, DE right down to Eastville, VA. Some of these commentators need to get in their cars and visit other places if they think our City is the pits!!!! No they would rather whine...

Justin Gregoli said...

How so? By being honest? I understand that politicians are typically saying something they do not mean or promises they have no intention of holding to. You certainly have every right to feel how you wish but I believe integrity is everything. This is why everyone has a choice and they need to know where we stand before making that choice.

I sell from the Bay Bridge Tunnel to the Delaware Memorial Bridge and my friend you are absolutely correct.

Anonymous said...

I agree. Too many people here have never traveled more than fifty miles away from Salisbury. Every town on the shore has most of the same problems. Salisbury is no different, but is in some ways better than many.

Justin Gregoli said...

I suppose you could read into any statement and twist it as you wish. If you are wanting this city to be controlled by the groups that have been destroying it then you would react as you did. If you want change then you would read it as it was meant,

Anonymous said...

Yes but every one of these towns should be doing what is being done here. Call out the waste and mismanagement, because you are paying for it out the nose in your taxes. I bought just outside the city and if they EVER annex my community I will be filing for mayor or city council the very next day.

JoeAlbero said...

To those of you saying most towns around here have the same problems, YOU ARE FULL OF CRAP.

Let's just use Berlin as an example.

I challenge ANY one of you to take even a week day off and go there for a few hours.

Go see the Downtown flowing with traffic. Watch all of the people coming in and out of the shops there with products they just purchased. Notice I said week day. Weekends, forgetaboutit. It's absolutely packed. It's clean, shop owners and employees are very kind and they are making money!

To say that most other towns are just as bad as Salisbury tells me you are one of the many "Good Ol' Boys" trying to cover your a$$.

Salisbury is crap. It's dirty, loaded with crime, murders, theft of all kinds. It is loaded with THUGS robbing banks and shoplifting. There are beggars just about everywhere and even the people with the most money just let their properties fall to pieces and the higher up people just cover their eyes and allow it to happen.

Just do like John Robinson did. Go in on a weekend and illegally put in new windows in a historic building knowing you're not supposed to. Then wait TWO years or so and hope the historic people brush it under the table like they're about to do very soon.

Salisbury is only friendly to those people in the know. I'm so glad I got out. I tried. I even went so far as too run for Mayor just to try to HELP. Thank God that didn't work out.

Anonymous said...

I can't wait to move from here. I live outside Salisbury, have done so most of my life. I live in a "nice" small town. In the past year I have had 4 things stolen out of my yard and some nasty white trashy B think my yard is her cut-through to the next street which she soon realized was not.

I understand that there is miscreants and drug addicts everywhere in this world but the Shore just seems to be overrun with it now. When I was a kid we slept with our windows and up and car windows down at the store. People of all races, which were only two then and migrant workers in the summer, were all respectful to each other and kind hearted. Teenagers were not scary little thug bastards.

It sickens me to no end how things have changed here and I am quickly and quietly saving my dollars to get the hell outta here.

Justin Gregoli said...

Joe is absolutely correct. If this city wants to change all this fabricating crime numbers has to stop. We as a community need to have people that are hard on crime, that will end the liberal policies, that will not stand for the further destruction of this city. Salisbury has become a safe haven for criminals, beggars, welfare abusers, and the politically negligent. This city can be brought back but it will take tough people with tough stances.

Anonymous said...

The SPD can't even handle the small stuff. No way they can handle the tough crime. Culver needs to see about getting Sheriff or MSP involved. City is ruining County. Someone needs to be a leader. The City doesn't have any.

Anonymous said...

FYI -- da Bury is now the s-hole of the shore. Everyone knows that, too.

Even Cambridge is doing better, not to mention Berlin, Easton and Seaford. I've not mentioned the beach towns because of that factor.

Justin Gregoli said...

With the proper leadership the SPD can handle this albeit with assistance from the sheriffs dept and the state police. The issue is the leadership and the right personnel

Anonymous said...

Duncant has completely destroyed SPD, unfortunately because of the damage she's done, the bad hires, the running out all veteran officers, Spd can not be turned around any time soon. Not that she cares, she's to busy primping herself for Meienschein.

Hell people from Baltimore say it is too dirty to move here. Joe the city needs an enema. Folks lets face it Jimmy likes his Firemen and they like him lol. WTF

I rode downtown to the Cupcake place and there seems to be trash everywhere on the sidewalks and streets. The parking garage smells like urine and lots of homeless people just walking around/hanging out.
Can't believe the Mayor can't see this - it's almost like he just turns a blind eye to it!

I guess you easily forgot about the worst fire chief's and their administration which is still running things as we speak. It was over $14 Million dollars for that fire station not $12 Million. Guess who is back for the mini version of the $14 Million dollar station. Bill Gordy is being paid by Jim Liarton to be the lead general contractor for the project. I guess Liarton didn't want Hoppes involved because he knew Hoppes was to lazy to leave his office for anything except look for food.

I would like to see the MSP come back and set up their portable MSP motor home office in the Church Street area again. They came in and kicked ass and took names. That is what we need to do. If anything get the Sheriff's Office to do that.

Well if your list of good ole boys holds true why are you Joe Albero putting on your Blog Headquarters Live updates. I don't get it. JoeAlbero said...

8:35, I never said Joey or Brad were Good Ol' Boys, so stop shoving such things down my throat and putting words into my mouth.

Now, IF you want to put ANY blame on favoritism, look no further than your own votes, Idiot.

The voters elected Jim Ireton and eventually Jake Day. How can you blame Joey or Brad for stepping up to the plate, risking their own money to open a business when no one else would. It was Ireton and the Council that allowed the old Fire Station to be sold for pennies on the dollar. It was the VOTERS who has seen the WWTP and new Fire Palace slap them right in the face, yet you kept allegedly electing the same Idiots. Did you actually THINK that you'd see them sell off property for the going rate?

Here, I'll give you a clue. I offered $250,000.00 CASH for the old Fire Station, they turned me down and ultimately sold it for $75,000.00. It was the Idiot voters who screwed themselves year after year. So IF you think things are going to be ANY different over the next 4+ years, you are nuts. It's the same old, same old all over again.

GOOD for Joey and Brad and you know what, GOOF for Gillis/Gilkerson as well on the Feldman's Building. They didn't buy it like the Tilghman's did with the old Parker Place and let it fall to pieces. These people are creating economic development and my hat is tipped to them, period.

Anonymous said...

No one thinks they can beat Jake Day, so no one ran.

Joe, Heads up because unfortunately that is what is perceived regarding the good ol boys.

Anonymous said...

Why would anyone want to be the mayor of this town, only one reason I can see and thats to move up in politics and thats exactly Jake's plan. Typical talk out of both sides of his mouth politician..... Full of BS.

Anonymous said...

The Fireman's Assn have political power. Because of their support of the sprinkler law, along with James Mathias, new home construction is no longer affordable for most of the middle class on the eastern shore. Multi unit complexes will be built though. This is all part of the Obama plan to herd the middle-class from rural areas to the cities.

Anonymous said...

You can't blame Parker Place on Barrie. For most of the past 15 years it was owned by a local banker (at M&T) named Taylor and his wife who bought it from a local LLC. A couple of years later, they bought the vacant lot next to the building from the City for $25,000, thanks to Barrie and the "Dream Team" (recall that episode, which Debbie Campbell tried to stop). A year or so ago, Barrie's husband became a joint owner of both properties. By then it had become an eyesore.

A few years back, the Parker Place store relocated to the Main Street-Snow Hill Road intersection. I believe Taylor's wife is now "ex" and the store is in the process of closing.

Anonymous said...

This is a classic GOB (Good Old Boys) scenario:

City has an abandoned building to sell, but refuses to sell it to an antiestablishment buyer who often criticizes the city officials but offers to pay more than 3 times a much as the price that they get from another party with connections. Sounds like a certain scam perpetrated in da Bury a few years ago!

I think the reason very few want to be a politician anymore is that it is not an honorable thing. For the most part politicians are scum and not worthy to even breath the same air as the decent American people. They are the worst of the worst complete dregs of society.
Anyone with a brain would be embarrassed to be a politician and that is why Donald Trump was so reluctant and didn't put politician down as his employment when he went for jury duty. We are lucky to have people like Trump and Dr Ben Carson running for President and I think if one of them gets elected more decent people will choose to run for office locally and on the state and fed levels. It will energize people. I think now people are in a slump because of the very bad job politicians are doing as we see by these pictures.

I'll ditto that about Dr. Carson, but not Trump. The Donald is not a decent person.

I have to agree with you Joe 100%. Something to keep in mind for the city's big Hero named Jake Day, he didn't win the election. No one ran for Mayor of Salisbury so Jake Day you are no Hero because you are the loser. You didn't win because people were scared of you. You didn't win at all and the City should have a law in place that the Mayor's position has to have a minimum of two candidates running.

This proves that no one cares about the City of Salisbury anymore because of Barrie Tilghman, Jim Ireton and now Jake Day and Laura Mitchell.

I hate to admit it, but Tim Spies turned into a Patsy since Debbie Campbell and Teri Cohen left the city council.
